Stage

Trained at the University of Auckland Theatre Program, Mikaela has worked with company’s such as Manukau Performing Arts, Auckland Music Theatre, The Arden Ensemble, and Stray Theatre Company. They’ve done workshops with Indian Ink Theatre Company, Q Theatre, ATC Youth Associates, and Red Leap.

Screen

New to the screen, Mikaela has recently been in a short film with Lemon Time Studios — Banana’s Riding Horses Circa 1985 — a coming of age comedy chock full of references and reservations when it comes to growing up and friendship.

Performances

Mikaela has performed on many stages — their credits include Chess (G&T Productions - 2022), Much Ado About Nothing (2023), Mongoose: The Musical (2023) and Pirates of the Internet (2024) (Stray Theatre Company), Seussical (MPA - 2024), and Ensemble: A Cabaret (2025).

From Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing to Hal-9000 and Siri’s evil love child A.I.D.A in Mongoose: The Musical, Mikaela shows their range and passion in every performance opportunity.

Direction & Production

The love of the artform doesnt just stop at performance, as Mikaela applies themself in every aspect of the performing arts world — having directed and produced in 5 productions over the past 3 years.

Their current work in progress is On Replay: An Original Musical — written and scored by Mikaela Stroud — which they have directed 2 workshop performances of, the first through Harlequin’s internship program in 2022 and the second independant with Debase Theatre in 2023.

Mikaela’s other credits include percussion and stage assistant in Seed Theatre’s Mr Burns: A Post-Electric Musical, Production Manager on Love Makes the Bed it Lies in by Faith Carolyn Ward through Mums Sugar Club, and Producer for Stray Theatre’s An Ideal Husband.

They made their directorial debut in Carolyn Ward’s The Hand that Locks the Holding Pen for 2024’s Auckland Fringe Season.
